Caribou Ridge Homes is a unique eco-friendly, green community located in the mountains of Boulder County just north of Nederland. Residents of Caribou Ridge Homes walk their children to elementary school via a trail system, go ice skating and play tennis at a facility adjacent to the home sites, shop at the local grocery store or food co-op, ride their bikes to local fairs and festivals, and ski, hike, fish and climb amidst Colorado’s spectacular scenery.
The scenic town of Nederland, Colorado sits at 8,233 feet above sea level, perfectly poised between Barker Reservoir and National Forest Land, and just 17 miles west of Boulder. What started out as a small cluster of cabins known as Dayton grew in the 1870s to become Middle Boulder. The discovery of the Caribou Mine put Colorado and the sleepy mountain town on the map. When the Dutch company Mining Company Nederland purchased the mine in 1874, the town’s name was officially changed to Nederland.
With a population of 1500, Nederland offers the advantages of small town life coupled with staggering physical beauty and unending recreational opportunities.
