  1. What is the property like where the home sites are located?

  1. Where in Colorado is Nederland located?
    Nederland is located in north central Colorado just 17 miles west of Boulder and 44 miles from Denver. It is the largest town along the Peak-to-Peak Scenic Byway which runs more than 55 miles from Black Hawk/Central City to Estes Park, the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park.


  2. Where is the closest airport?
    Denver International Airport (DIA) is 59 miles from Nederland and is about an hour drive. Located in northeast Denver, DIA is the busiest and largest airport in the United States.


  3. Is there a closer airport for private aircraft?
    Yes. Just south of Boulder is Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Jefferson County, Denver’s premier corporate choice. It offers 24-hour US Customs services.


  4. What is the climate like?
    The climate is warm during the summer months when temperatures are generally in the mid 70s. Winter temperatures tend to be in the 30s. The annual average precipitation is just over 20 inches and rainfall is fairly evenly distributed throughout the year. Denver has over 300 days of sunshine annually, more than either San Diego or Miami.


  5. Where will I do my grocery shopping?
    The B & F Mountain Market and the Mountain People’s Coop are full service grocery stores located just minutes from Caribou Ridge Homes. Seventeen miles away, Boulder offers several food shopping options including Whole Foods, Safeway and King Soopers.


  6. Where will my children go to school?
    The Nederland Elementary School, walking distance from all the Caribou Ridge home sites, and the Nederland Middle/High School, just minutes by school bus, are part of the highly regarded Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) ranked second in the state based on an annual statewide assessment. Through BVSD’s open enrollment policy you can petition to send your child to any Boulder Valley school including various charter and focus schools. Admission to charter and focus schools is by annual lottery, and acceptance at other schools outside your neighborhood is on a space available basis. There are also several private school options.

  8. Is the only way to get to Boulder to drive my car?
    No. The Regional Transit District (RTD) runs bus service between Nederland and downtown Boulder fourteen times a day. It’s an approximately 30 minute trip.

  1. What’s the closest ski area to Caribou Ridge Homes? What is the area like?
    The Eldora Mountain Resort is just minutes from Caribou Ridge Homes and features 12 lifts and 53 trails on 680 acres of skiable terrain. The base elevation is 9,300 feet and it’s 10,800 feet at the summit.


  2. Are there cross-country and snow shoe trails nearby?
    The groomed trails at Eldora Ski Resort are excellent for cross-country skiing as are the trails found in the National Forest that borders the ski area, and those in the Indian Peaks Wilderness area. Just fourteen miles north of Nederland is the turn off to Brainard Lake, which provides access to both Nordic skiing and snowshoe trails.


  3. What about summer activities like hiking, mountain biking, camping and fishing?
    Caribou Ridge Homes is located in the center of a veritable wonderland of fair weather recreation areas. Rocky Mountain National Park, Eldora Mountain Resort and the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area offer unending opportunities for hiking, camping, mountain biking and fishing.
